USD 367 Osawatomie Schools is seeking an experienced, visionary, and student-centered leader to serve as the next Superintendent of Schools. Osawatomie USD 367 serves approximately 900 students in the Osawatomie community. The district is known for its dedicated staff, supportive families, and commitment to innovation and continuous improvement. Osawatomie offers a welcoming small-town environment with proximity to the Kansas City metropolitan area.

The Superintendent of Schools is the chief executive officer of the district and is responsible for providing leadership, vision, and direction to ensure high-quality learning experiences for all students. The superintendent works collaboratively with the Board of Education, staff, families, and community partners to promote academic excellence, fiscal responsibility, and a safe, inclusive school environment. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and long-range planning aligned with district goals. Foster a positive, student-focused culture across all schools.

The superintendent will oversee:

  • District operations, including curriculum and instruction, finance, human resources, facilities, and student services.

  • Recommend and implement policies that support effective teaching, learning, and governance.

  • Develop strong relationships with staff, families, community members, and local organizations.

  • Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Education and work collaboratively to advance shared priorities.

  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and uphold high standards of transparency and accountability.

  • Represent the district in legislative, professional, and community contexts.

  • Promote effective communication and engagement throughout the district.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Kansas District-Level Leadership License (or eligibility for licensure).

  • Proven success in educational leadership, preferably as a superintendent, central office administrator, or building leader.

  • Strong understanding of K–12 instruction, school finance, personnel management, and Kansas education law.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, student achievement, and community partnership.

  • Ability to build trust, lead collaboratively, and make informed, student-centered decisions.
