Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)

New for the 2025-2026 School Year, Wednesdays are designated “PLC” Days for grades K-12!

This allows K-12 teachers time once a week to have Professional Learning Communities, or PLC’s, so that they can work together to ensure a more cohesive learning experience for our students!

Teachers will meet from 7:30am - 9:00am to participate in PLCs, and classes will start at 9:00am. Classes and instruction will run on a shortened schedule, similar to an early release day (see Bell Schedules).

By allowing teachers time to collaborate across grade levels and subject matter, we can work towards satisfying our KESA 2.0 requirement for standards alignment and student growth!

Here's what you need to know (FAQs):

What time can my student arrive at school?

  • All buildings will open at their normal times, and students can still report to school at their normal arrival times.

  • There will be building admin, counselors, and other support staff on site to monitor students who arrive at those regular start times.

What time will my child be considered "tardy"?

  • On PLC days, students will not be counted tardy until 9:00am. On non-PLC days, 8:00am is their tardy time.

My child rides the bus, will there still be transportation on PLC days?

  • Yes, transportation will run as normal, and there will be no change to the bus schedule. Your student will meet the bus at the same time everyday, regardless of PLCs.

Will there still be an opportunity to eat breakfast?

  • Yes. All students will still have the opportunity to eat breakfast. If students arrive late, they will receive a "grab-n-go" style meal (think a pack of donuts and a juice or milk).

My OHS student is in off-campus CTE classes, will they start late?

  • No. Off-campus CTE classes (Welding, HVAC, nursing, etc) will all start at their normal time and are not affect by USD #367 PLCs schedules. Transportation to off-campus locations will still be available as normal.

Important:

If the school week is shortened due to a holiday or teacher in-service, PLCs will be canceled and classes will start at normal time.

PLC days will be noted on the Academic Calendar in PURPLE.
