Students must begin their post-secondary education at a 2 or 4-year college or university, vocational or technical school in the fall immediately following their graduation. An application is required.

Preference will be given to students planning to pursue a business related major, but others may apply and will also be considered. Students must begin their post-secondary education at a 2 or 4-year college or university, vocational or technical school in the fall immediately following their graduation. An application is required.
Update January 23, 2021
Class of 2021,
You're doing a great job so far in submitting scholarship applications on time. Thank you! I did want to share something that came to mind as I was preparing to send applications to committees. If you test positive for COVID, get quarantined or will be missing school for other unexpected reasons between now and the end of the semester, please notify me if you have scholarship applications to submit. We will work out a way for you to get them to me in a timely manner. You do not have to miss out on a scholarship opportunity due to unexpected circumstances, but I also won't know if you don't contact me. I typically send applications to committees within a couple days of the due date. Therefore, you need to let me know immediately if you have applications to submit but won't be at school.
Keep up the good work!
Below are just a few items I'd like to share with and/or remind you of.
Reminder that 2 per day local scholarship due dates do begin next week. You are welcome to turn in applications early or on their due date.
There have been a couple of application changes and I am currently waiting on those donors to approve the revised applications. Those will be linked on the website asap.
I am also working to change some application forms from PDF fillable forms to Google Forms. Don't be surprised if a Google Form pops up instead of a PDF. Simply fill out the Google Form and submit it digitally when this happens.
I am also waiting to hear back from a few donors regarding availability of scholarships. I will make any changes necessary when I hear back from them. Be sure to check your emails.
Please let me know if there are applications you cannot access or have any problems with.
Be sure you are using your most current transcript, which includes your Fall 2020 Semester grades.
The February due date calendar is linked above.
Letters of recommendation are required as part of the application for several local scholarships, as well as students’ personal data sheets/resumes. Advanced preparation is often helpful in getting applications done and submitted on time.
Please remember to check your email often as changes do occur and this is how I will communicate with you.
Please feel free to call me at the school 913-755-2191 ext. 7421, e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or stop by. Leave me a voice mail if I am unavailable when
you call. I will get back with you as soon as possible. I look forward to working with you in this capacity.

OHS Local Scholarship
Access the USD #367 web site at http://www.usd367.org.
Select the LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS link from the High School drop down menu. General scholarship information and updates will appear. A link to the monthly Scholarship Due Date calendar will be at the bottom of this page as well.
Click the LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS link at the top of the page to locate the list of scholarships, which contain links to the applications.
Locate the scholarship for which you would like to apply. If an application is required, the title should be red and an application or organization web site linked to it. If the title is black, there is not an application available or a hard copy must be obtained from Mrs. Stout-Rhine or the organization noted in the description.
Click on scholarship title.
Complete application, moving from field to field by using the tab key or clicking on the field with the left mouse button.
Save, print and submit hard copy to Mrs. Stout-Rhine.
Applications requesting transcripts or GPA & class rank should be completed using information after the fall semester grades have been included. Do not use information prepared prior to January 2021. (There are the few exceptions due prior to the end of the first semester and mid-January.) Do not round your GPA on applications.
Check the calendar on the web site often. Periodically due dates may change.
Do not wait until the last minute to complete applications. Several require letters of recommendation and / or signatures from parents, administration, teachers, etc... Lack of planning on your part does not create an emergency for these individuals. Do not expect them to drop their normal responsibilities to write a letter or sign something for you at the last minute.
Please do not leave applications on my desk. If I’m not available, take the application to the office and ask for them to put it in Mrs. Stout-Rhine’s mailbox.
Hard copies of calendars will not be mailed. They will be e-mailed to all seniors’ school Gmail accounts and posted on the district web site. Contact me if you have any questions at 913-755-2191 ext. 7421 or email@example.com.
